Old Town Budva ramparts which date back to the 15th century include a medieval fortification system withcity gates, defensive walls and towers. Inside the walls the town is a combination of narrow streets and little squares with monuments of different cultures that marked its development: the Church of St. Ivan (7th century), the Church of Santa Maria de Punta built by the Benedictines in 840, the Church of St. Sava (12th century), and the town fortress of Citadel.
